I am currently celebrating my first anniworksary and me surviving early stage of adulthood. Pretty good; challenging but good; heartbreaking but good; eye-opening oh so good; and the best thing is ................. I survive.
We aren't going to talk about what did I accomplish throughout the year. No. I want to tell you a story about a girl (or should I say a woman?) who began to understand herself better.
Living on her own made her realize little she know about herself. With so many options given (and money on her own finally), she got to decide everything for herself. This led to her discovery on preferences, principal values, and priorities in her life and answers for questions such as
What to eat for today?
When should I go to work 8am or 11am?
Should I take a bath before going? (shout out to Astari wkwkwkwkwkwk)
When should I go home?
Should I wear a face mask? Sunscreen? Umbrella?
Better buy Tropical or Bimoli? Quaker Oats red or blue? Invest on really good tea or just buy Sariwangi?
Should I cook today?
When to do the laundry?
What book I would love to buy? What movie to watch today?
Am I happy at work?
Do I get enough appreciation at work?
Is that verbal bullying/abuse? Is it sexual harassment I should pretend not to hear?
Is it the time to quit my job?
Are they really my friend?
To whom should I share my problem?
Where to go this weekend? Indie-cinema or shopping or musical event?
Invest on a cozy room or allocate for holiday trip?
Should I breakup?
When should I get married?
Should I pay zakat? Qurban starting this year or just next year?
Do I really believe in this religion?
What does PKI do wrong? What happen in Trump's mind?
Many things.
The list went longer day by day. As time goes by, she is not the same girl she was one year before. All that she wants right now is thanking god, family, and friends who have stayed with her in these past years when things get hard. Thank you, lots of love for you, she said.
Celebrating this month by watching Baby Driver, buying external hard drive (a gift for myself), enjoying good music (IOEF), eating good food (try School Food, best!!), and moving on (to the next challenge).
Btw, finished a masterpiece yesterday I really love it.
p.s. Anniworksary is a special word I made for this post :)

I AM BACK!
Hello there :) It's been a while, hasn't it? How are you doing, dear readers? Ehehe
After being encouraged by some people, I decided to go back into my "write anything you want" mode.
This past month is kinda exhausting. Well, absolutely fun and amazing actually. "Talk that talk" sessions, graduation, trip to Lombok, job hunting, stepping into new relationship, nothing can beat the excitement. But, those exciting moments drained my energy. So, after all things has been settled and I've got time for myself, I am back for you <3
I am preparing some posts in the backstage, so be prepared haha. No, I am kidding. You don't have to. Well, we'll see.
So, see you tomorrow.

Talk That Talk: From Mandiri Grafika to Goa Session
Sometimes I wonder, "What did I do wrong?"
Or even more philosophical question like "What is wrong and what is right?" frequently comes to mind. I've been asking this kind of questions for years. No answer yet.

I wonder.
#nowlistening Birdy - Skinny Love
Today, after printing some paperwork, I walked to Goa with a friend. Close-but-not-that-close friend. We talked about things, started with a question from me, about my attitude and how do I behave in front of others. "Aku gini ga sih?"
"Nggak kok," he answered. And then silence.
I know he meant it. But the answer couldn't calm my insecurities hahaha. After some "Why did they do this? What am I supposed to do?", before parting, he said, "Jadi diri kamu apa adanya suy. Nggak apa-apa kok."
Thanks for listening, I owe you.

Being Not Superior
This is just a mere thought.
Hours ago, I just thought that being not superior brings me good feeling. Oh, you should note that not-superior doesn't mean inferior here. I rarely feel inferior because I like myself the way I am. But sometimes the way I act make some people feel that I want to and have to win, or be superior, or be the center of universe. Not a complete opposite but ....
I love to argue or debate about something. But not making it intimidating is kind of difficult. Some people don't see that I am 'open', then decided to say yes to everything I said instead of discussing it further. Luckily, I had some other people that 'knocked my argument down' too, and usually I enjoy that feeling. Being 'beaten' make me feel that the person actually see me as a 'sparing partner in the same level', thus they tend to give their best in the 'battle'. It gives me a sense of appreciation.
So, everything that neither makes me superior nor inferior to others --which means we are equal-- is a good thing.
I just want peace haha.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie Review
Hey hello.
I would like to share my thoughts about this movie I watched last Wednesday, Batman v Superman. There are lots of reviews in the internet, so writing one couldn't be that hard. Well, it's hard though.
I am not a fan of Superman, but I love Batman that much. So this movie has a medium to high expectation to begin with. And after watching, it pretty much meets the expectation.
I love the first half of the movie, they explain everything that we should know about the men in the movie title, and why Bruce hate Superman. A solid ground. But then the tense start to build up. The movie get so serious, Bruce appeared as a man with obsession. Alfred came to calm him but not given any chances to do much (I love Alfred btw). And the battle begin.
I do not like to watch a fight scene, especially the one that is too destructive. If you want to do it, do it with style. This movie doesn't apply the both of them: destructive without style. I just want it to end as soon as it started. Disturbing lights, urgh hated it.
During the fight, we can't see the characters as they are. I mean they're just there fighting, with no emotion. The only character I love is Lex Luthor that seems like having fun being there in the movie. LoLa and Clark doesn't look like a couple of lover judging from this movie alone. They don't have enough time together on the screen to show us how much they love each other. And Martha making jokes, just stop there ma'am, don't you ever try to do it again.
This movie is all entertaining before the fight become too destructive and boring and give a predictable result. I love how the movie give values to every character (especially the scene Kevin Costner appeared), but sadly the value sometimes forgotten because the focus is shifted, too much into the fight.
Pardon the not-so-good English.

Allegiant Movie Review
I don't love you like I loved you yesterday.
That sums up what I feel about this movie.
Well, actually I haven't watched Insurgent so I don't really know how bad this bad movie is, compared to its predecessor. But I pretty much love Divergent. Oh I haven't read the books either.
Okay.
spoiler alert
spoiler alert
Question that came to my mind when the movie was over was like: "Are they running out of idea?"
Is that really the weapon we have to fight? Really nothing better?
I don't really get it. Whether plot holes or poor character development that made the villain so forgettable. With the not-so-powerful-villain and not-so-powerful-weapon that should be taken care of, I don't see any reasons to struggle there. Not enough for an action movie. ((But why so many action scene in the screen? I don't know.)) I don't see enough reason to fight him, actually. Reason for everything to be precise. Why go outside the walls? Why letting Peter get in the car? Why Matthew acted suspicious?
And with cheesy drama and dialogue all over this movie, I vote for The Hunger Games Series, they do the drama better. I won't even sad when someone dies in this movie. Even the Fringe (the landscape and the 'tribe') that supposed to be terrifying doesn't make me feel anything.
Entertaining but better spend the money on another.
Ah, last one. I would like to tell you one thing. If you, readers, know Pratama. I warn you that you should never believe him saying "this movie is good". Because his preference is a bit ..., well, just trust me this time.

#LIVEatRUMAHBONITA
I don't know why am I doing this.
I watch (listen to actually) this video while preparing a mini presentation for Business Communication class. So, what is so interesting about the video?
Well, to be honest, nothing in the first minute. I just got curious about them practicing. Oh yeah, practicing! And then tadaaa, beautiful music comes out. I love it. Really, I mean it.
And it all seems so natural, that homey feeling aha I like it. Honestly, I don't like the idea of smoking when a child is around, but I just love the way they relax, interact, and at the same time find the perfect note to produce a beautiful sound.
Ah it's also funny to see them say hi to the viewer and was like "komen doong" hahahha.
About January, last year, I 'discovered' Bonita and the HusBand, from their performance uploaded in Mostly Jazz Youtube channel. Love at first sight. They sang Juwita Malam, one of my favorite song. Since then, I've been longing to see them live. Time will come.
See ya

Smart Talk eps 1: Introduce Yourself
Notice: This post is under label "mimpi" because it relates so much with my personal mission statement aka goals of life.
#nowlistening Frau - Arah
I am currently taking a business communication class and reading Smart Talk by Lisa B. Marshall.
It feels good.
First, I have to tell you that I am proud of my people skills. I even write it on the About Me part in this blog (you can see it in the right column, sorry for being narcissistic :)) ). Then I met this class and this book. Someone knocked at my door. Said that I am no good in professional communication.
Okay lets move on. Take the pride back.
#1 Taking the "Hell" Out of Hello
How many times did you have to introduce yourself last month? Not a chance? Once? A dozen of times? For me it's like seven to ten within two weeks. I am currently applying for this and that, so that would add a couple of "Hi, I'm Yusrina blablabla", both via email and in-person.
I'll write you the five steps to effective introductions from the book:
1. Make it relevant to your audience.
When I introduced myself in the placement test interview, I didn't say "Hi, I'm Yusrina. I love running and swimming." That was irrelevant to the interviewer because what she was interested about was not my hobby. Obviously. So here is what I should have had said: "Hi, I'm Yusrina. I am taking this class because I am preparing for an interview next month".
2. Shake hands, well you know it
3. Say the other person's name while shaking, you know this too
4. Build rapport by finding common ground
The initial connection hopefully lead to conversation. The powerful question that I used a lot in speed networking role play in the class last week was "Well, I'll hear from you first. So, what do you do?". That way, I could adjust my response to describe what I do, made it more relevant and interesting for the other person. And this book says the same thing. Wow.
The direction of the conversation can be decided from here, the common ground. "Oh, you're a travel agent? I love travelling". My role was an event organizer that loves extreme sport and travelling, so I brought up the travelling thing. Forgot to mention, that was my line from last week. Yes, I used echo question a lot. It shows interest. Don't you think so?
5. Communicate confident, yes of course
The steps ends here.
Talking about small talk, I want to quote the book:
Talking about small talk, I want to quote the book:
"My coach said to me, 'Lisa, you don't ask someone to marry you on the first date! You need to warm-up first.' That made sense! Before I can ask someone important questions, I first needed the person to respond favorably to me, to like me, and perhaps most important, to trust me. It was like a huge lightbulb went off in my head -introductions, small talk, and initial conversations are just a first step toward genuine communication."
There. I want to talk about the underlined words later. Please remind me.
#nowlistening Tulus - Lagu Untuk Matahari

Attracting Others
So the point is, people who attracted to you is the reflection of yourself.
That part was taken from Cicim's Tumblr.
Well, I can't guarantee whether that sentence is true (don't have any data about it). But I do think about it sometimes. Today included.
#nowlistening Banda Neira - Utarakan
Go back to 6 months ago ...
Luthfi, Gerry, and I were talking about 'partner' when suddenly Gerry brought the idea. He said that what come to our mind as "perfect traits in our partners" are traits that we wish we had. Interesting.
I think these two ideas relate to what I am thinking about today. That maybe you stuck with a circle of friends, don't know how the relationship started, but ended up knowing that each of them (including you) are so much alike. It's just like the law of the world itself only allows us to attract that type/kind of person. I don't know, not sure.
Complement each other. Bukan dalam arti berseberangan melainkan saling melengkapi. That should do if the second idea was right. Something we wish we had must be something we don't have, right? I think that's when the relationships will be at its best, every person in the circle is a complement of the other. Like a puzzle in bigger picture. Last longer with a deeper meaning, eh? That's why friends that stay with us sometimes are the one that have differences in this and that.
But I am aware that the second idea is kinda 'scary' if the person we attract is not emotionally independent. Something we wish we had must be something we don't have. That's the problem. People that emotionally dependent don't have sufficient self worth to feel full just by being himself. Ah what am i babbling about haha.
We have to be independent at first to become interdependent person (Maturity Continuum section, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People page 48-52).
I hope we are attracting the right person.
I'm not judging things, just lay bare all the possibilities.
#nowlistening Banda Neira - Langit dan Laut
mirip Mac Demarco favorit yang My House by the Water
Eh nggak deng ternyata ada liriknya. Masih lebih suka Mac Demarco ahahaha
I am replacing #nowplaying with #nowlistening. The first one doesn't sound right.
Cie tumben marah-marah bukan nangis.

Know Your Worth
I don't agree on this
You have to know your worth. But the world needs to see that too.
Make sure that happens.
Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth.
You decide. That's true. But you are living in a world full of people. You have a price tag that should be made sure to worth as much as you do.
You have to know your worth. But the world needs to see that too.
Make sure that happens.
Thank you for the reminder, Pratama. I'll make sure to write "caring and loving friend" everytime I get chance to describe you. And thank you Astari for having a great conversation with Pratama, spoke on my behalf as I am on meeting. I am happy to read those lines of conversations you both had. I know that you two know me that well haha
I am glad to be surrounded by people who really cares, including you two.

A Cluttered Mind
I have to write to connect the ideas that come up in my mind, mostly happened when reading or listening to a serious topic.
It really helps.
To read a non-fiction book without being able to write the important points is like being in the center of the storm and can not hold onto things. The mind is cluttered hahah, the brainstorm is the cause. Funny to say that, but I think that is the perfect word for this.
And I have no one to talk to, I mean talk about this book. Ah it kills me. Discussion lead to a better understanding, right?
Sorry for exaggerating hahaha
((curhat nunggu delay empat jam padahal pulpen hilang sehingga ga bisa coret-coret buku))
((harusnya ditulis 2 Januari tapi saat itu baterai tinggal 12%))

Under Pressure
perfect soundtrack
#nowplaying The 1975 - Pressure
I am under pressure. I need everyone. But everyone is under pressure too. End of story.
Lucky me, Mbak Ita was home and she brought a nice topic to discuss. Do you read a post in social media about LPDP interviewer saying something about the candidates? We were into it, which was great haha
But I still need everyone.

Tugas Akhir 4: Practice English Everyday
#nowplaying Adele - Hello
I wanna show you this blogpost by Budi Rahardjo, you have to read it!
Okay this time the Tugas Akhir post is about my thesis chat group, 'Doa Ibu'. Our team do concern about English as a language that would bring us to bigger opportunity in professional world. So we came up with the idea to use English in daily conversations. Sometimes the conversation ended by "Ah apaan english aksen cimahi" or "yee padalarang padalarang ngomongnya kok gitu". Well yes this team is supportive enough to say what part is grammatically wrong, but they prefer to use that kind of manner. (no problem, our team work that way I know haha)
Pratama who has just comeback from YLI forum is now in a great spirit to practice English. Well me myself already done it by writing blog in English several times (including this one). And Daryl with his movie-style English, I can't stop laughing. Here is a snapshot of our chat room today.
Dont know if Im allowed to post this snapshot, will delete it if not
See you

#nowplaying Pomplemoose - I'm the Shit
Today I don't feel like doing anything. I just wanna lay in my bed said Bruno Mars. This lyric appears to be the best way to describe what I am doing today. Well I got plans to do actually. But all cancelled due to this body of mine. I'm not trying to make excuse or something, just saying.
I am worried about someone lately. Wondering if this person is okay. Some people (well two persons actually haha) keep telling me that something isn't right about this person. I see it myself yesterday so I am planning to do (or say) something today. But the plan ruined, unfortunately.
Pratama said that I shouldn't worry about people too much but I can't help it. He said that those thought would take my energy away (for nothing?). I am okay if I could express this worry-thing to the person I am worried about but this one is kind of different. Took a lot of energy just to speak with this person (but i keep doing it why is that?). I couldn't resist the need to set everything right, this time it includes this person as the subject.
Hope to meet this person tomorrow so I can offer him/her some help.
I have the second someone to worry about too. But I've never offer him/her my help so it's kind of strange to suddenly jump in and try to fix everything. I'll try to figure out a way to help, it takes time. Maybe time will heal him/her before I could do something haha. We'll see.

Tugas Akhir 3: Akhirnya Lengkap Juga
Yuhu finally.
Daryl has been doing his personality test in 16personalities.com since long time ago. That time the internet connection was not on our side so he failed to see the result after finishing the test. Moving to Pratama's place, nothing's changed. We could surf the web easily, but failed to get the test result. Several unsuccessful attempts have been done and now, we finally know the unknown. #azeg
We've got an Architect here in the team, Pratama, with a plan for everything. And me myself as a Campaigner, that both creative and expressive. We came from a different role of people based on this website: Pratama as an Analyst role and me as Diplomat.
Here we go, welcoming the recently known type to the club,
the Entertainer, Daryl Haris, with the role as Explorers wuhuw.
This makes a (maybe) perfect team because we get those three different role: Analyst, Diplomat, and Explorer together. Missing the Sentinel role though, maybe that's why this team mostly procrastinate things haha.
Well this post is about my obsession with people's traits and the best way to deal with it. Fortunately, I got a friend that would love to discuss things about that. And this is what we've been doing since the very start of the thesis project. Guessing everyone's type and trying to prove it. We got some people's type right by the way haha.

Robbie Williams - Angels Lyric
I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate
And do they know
The places where we go
When we're grey and old
'cos I have been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
[Chorus]
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
When I'm feeling weak
And my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
And I know I'll always be blessed with love
And as the feeling grows
She breathes flesh to my bones
And when love is dead
I'm loving angels instead
[Chorus]
And through it all she offers me protection
A lot of love and affection
Whether I'm right or wrong
And down the waterfall
Wherever it may take me
I know that life won't break me
When I come to call she won't forsake me
I'm loving angels instead
[Repeat Chorus]
